And for many people with vaginas, urinary incontinence is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s also pooping problems. Painful sex. Prolapse. Low back and hip pain. And plenty more.

All these symptoms are related to your pelvic floor.

What the heck is a

pelvic floor?

Your pelvic floor is a group of muscles that attach to your pelvis—the ring of bones near the base of your spine.

These muscles support your bladder, rectum, and reproductive organs, and they help control the functions of those organs: peeing, pooping, menstruation, sex, and childbirth.

If your pelvic floor isn’t cooperating, you’re likely experiencing any number of painful or embarrassing symptoms. But you’re not alone—and I’m here to help.

A healthy pelvic floor and core mean:

R
Improved bladder and bowel control
R
Reduced risk of vaginal and rectal prolapse
R
Better sex, including more orgasms
R
Easier labor and delivery
R
Faster postpartum recovery
R
Decreased social stress and increased confidence
